First off, why 20s ? you driving a Hummer or something Get your tune adjusted before you get gears installed and then you are ready to load upthen drive off. Change the other stuff whenever you want but don't drive around like me for a week without the right tune [:@]

"Why 20's", eh??
Well, Mr desslok40.......I happen to like 20's. I happen to like driving a car that looks and performs well..........
I used to be accused of "all show and no go".....but what about these boys that are the opposite? All go and no show??
I like a ride that looks unique to my personal tastes. Haven't even got my 20's on yet, but when I do....I'll post pictures.....special-like....just for you.
Then tell me how my "hummer" looks......
And race day? Who's says I won't have a spare set of Bogart's lined up in the back of the truck to trade out??? Hmph~! [8D]

So if I already have Doug's tunes......and then had my gears installed.....I really need to contact Doug and have my tunes updated?? Is this the right understanding??

Are you a chick ?
I think the cars look great stock, barring the horrible spoiler and fake rear gas cap, so I have concentrated on go mods!!
Truth be told I would love aShaker hood and some black bullitt18s but thats like $2000that could buy a TC and driveshaft
To each their own, good luck

..wait..
what?
So I get the intake/tuner,tune it with the intake-THEN tune it with the intake THEN get gears and I will be able to drive with the gears without touching the tune (???)
I am a little bit lost in terms of 'tuning' [:'(][:'(][:'(]

Yes, I'm female. I thought the pink "saddleup" might be a subtle indication....
Maybe you're right.....I really should get some performance mods.

When you buy a CAI/tuner combo it comes with 3 tunes (different octane levels depending on where you are located, I got 87 /89/ and 91 octane tunes) it is a OBD-II device that plugs in underneath driveer side dash. When you order from either Brenspeed or Bamachips they will ask what mods you have installed, if just stock they will put a "canned" tune for an automatic, this tune alone will wakeup the car as it adjust shift points, rev limiter, spark, throttle response.... the car will run much better and hell you may even get better MPG. You or a shop installs the CAI, i don't see why anybody couldn't install the CAI, its wicked easy,it comes withinstructions on how to upload the tune.
Keep in mind the tune will also be set-up for the CAI you get which will probably be bigger than the stock airbox and the tune will be set-up for more air intake, keep your stock airbox in case you need to return your tune to stock, like to bring the car in to dealer for warranty stuff, or computer issues.
When you are ready to get the gears installed call Doug and have him adjust thetune for the 3.73 gears, he will email you the revised, then upload to your Xcalibrator (Live Load), after the shop swaps in the gears load up the revised tune to your car, make sure when you do this you go into optional parameters and change axle ratio from stock to 3.73, this will keep your speedo correct, save that and upload tune to your car, you will be all set. Hopefully the shop you get the gears installed by can help you with the tuner device, its pretty easy though.
