Default Help choosing clutch, flywheel and slave

Slave in my 05 GT is giving me problems. At least i think thats the culprit. After like 15 miles of crusing in same gear clutch gets really really stiff. And you need to pump it a few times to get back normal pedal softness. So while i have the trans out figured i might as well upgrade it all.

Right now car is just bolt on's making 300 wheel horse power. Later down the road it might be blown so i was just gonna do it right now.

What clutch and flywheel do u guys recommend? Is it worth to drop the money on a aluminum flywheel? And should i get a upgraded slave?

Do a Spec 2+ or 3+ with matching flywheel ALONG WITH a Ram hydraulic TOB. As far as the flywheel, aluminum will offer slightly better performance at the track however some would argue that you lose some driveability on the street.

I personnally am doing a Spec 3+, matching steel flywheel, and Ram TOB later this month at Brenspeed.

From what I have heard, most problems with Spec clutches are from the "+" series. I would think about doing a Spec Stage 2 as they are rated for 599 ft #'s tq.

As far as flywheels here is my take.

For a drag car go steel as the launchs will be better with more inertia.

For a track car go aluminum as the reduced rotating weight lets the motor spin faster. I would think this helps with roll on races too for a street car.

I am still a little on the fence, but I think I will go Aluminum because I spend more time punching it from a roll, then I do launching the car hard from a stop.

Good Luck.

If you have the tranny out and are looking at building it one time, get a twin disc ceramic, have the input shft redone to 26 spline instead of 10 and get a billet steel flywheel.
