Will the 5R55s from a Lincoln Aviator 4.6 fit directly into a 2007 Automatic GT ?

I've heard of people putting the Mustang Trans. in Lincolns so I think it would be possible the way you are wanting to go. I think there is some programing involved though.

I want to send the lincoln tranny to Larrys transmisions in CA, so if the housing is the same and they will change all the guts, I can still use mine in the while. I´m from Mexico and taking it all the way up to CA might take a while.

Check out http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com (go to the LS section) for more info on the stang trans put in a Lincoln. The guys there can probably give you exact specs on the Lincoln trans and what the differences are.

but how is the lincoln tranny better than the gt's tranny? what will you gain?

He said he just needs a case. He didnt say anything about it being better. he just asked if there was a difference so he can use it for his bare case.
He is sending a case to a trans shop to build a beefed up 5R55S.
