Default Supercharger Belt Came Off Today

So after doing some agressive driving today (drifting), my supercharger belt came off. Anyone know why this happened and how to ensure this doesn't happen again? Wasn't hard to put back on, but a pain if i'm not close to a tool set.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a bent tensioner. Alot of people have had this problem while powershifting. I would think "drifting" would put alot of stress on it too.

Look into getting a Frankentensioner (ST motorsports) or a Thumprr tensioner. This will help.

Only other thought is to go for an 8 rib set up.

As far as tools you should keep some in the car as well as a breaker bar. An extra belt would be a good idea too.

Another good suggestion that I got from CK is to get an elec H2O pump. That way if you loose the belt you can drive about 35miles with no belt.

Drifting?

Wow I thought only people in Japan did that stuff. Is that some organized event you do or are you just driving around in parking lots like yopu belong in the "Fast and Furiuous"?
Your poor car!
When you are running a 6 rib serpentine, the belt may get popped off by having the steering wheel cut all the way and goosing the throttle. I have seen that happen. Also if you are running a manual tranny, and powershift, the difference in speed between the alternator and the blower pulley can place undue stress on the belt and cause it to jump, break or fray.
I have also seen the serpentine jump when it got wet from the blower being iced down.

Drifting for fun . Yeah thats kind of what happened Z. I went sliding around a corner (steering wheel locked to the right) and as soon as I straightened out, my power steering locked up. I was like dam. Did i mess up my suspension; the drift felt smooth... I guess the power steering, ac, and supercharger are all tied into the 1 belt.

How much does the tensioner's run guys? Probably go with ST's unless the other one is as good and is much cheaper... Oh yeah and how much to convert to an 8 rib setup? My 10 lbs pulley is an 8 rib pulley already, but the belt and remaining pulleys are of a 6 rib setup.

The Japanese create a name for what everyone else has always called "driving like a jackass" and suddenly everyone thinks that they're a "drifter". Lol, just messin with you SD, but a Thump_rrr tensioner should solve your problems. I bent my tensioner powershifting and my belt started slipping and eventually shredded. The thump_rrr cured my belt issues.

His name is Peter Mitas. He'll give you a price+shipping quote. Should be less than $400. WELL worth it.

Unless your is bent you dont need a tensioner. First see if it is bent, then if you need one buy one.
I already explained that the belt can come off if you cut thw wheel all the way and give it a hard push on the gas, That doesnt mean you need a tensioner,
