3v education
Hey guys I need an education on 3v's. I see that they use an imrc plate, im guessing simular to that of the old B heads, I want to know that if you delete those, do you also need to delete the vvt stuff and use an adjustable cam gear or can it be retained w/o the imrc plates?

Guessing here, are you refering to the butterflies in the intake runners?
CMCP is the term used on the 3v motors.
If so, they can be removed or you can purchase castings W/O the plates/rods installed.
Search for Delete Plates.
You will need a tune for the deletes.
Valve timing, sensors, etc are not affected & will not need to be touched.
You may get 5-10HP/TQ gain on the high end by this mod.

Yeah..the VVT and the IMRC (which actually is the correct Ford terminology, according to what they put in the PCM anyway) are totally unrelated.
I understand what your trying to do and beleive it or not, a good tuner can control all of that and more in the tune. Been playing with the cam timing in mine (and the IMRC timing as well) and the seat-o-the-pants-o-meter says theres something to it... unfortunately, my G-tech just took a crap on me (and yes, I know for actual numbers a G-tech sucks, but what it IS good at is measuring differences in changes) and my Dash-hawk fund is only about halfway there.
