Question Anyone who has had the T.S.B for 1-2 clash...

Did it seem to help?Mine is kind of notchy form 1-2 and 2-3 and sometimes will grind when banging the gears(which I probley need poly MM,Im hoping that will help)I rebuilt my old trans under warranty at work in my 04'gt,it didnt seem to help at all.Im thinking about bringing my 07 in and throwing some new syncros and all the other crap that ford says will fix it.What do you guys think?Waste of time or give it a shot?I havent tried RP syncromax yet, thats a last resort,I dont really care for there products too much. Thanks in advance!

I don't know anything about a tsb for gear clash, but i've been running the RP synchromax since changing my clutch a few thousand miles ago. The car shifts the same if not better, but what's really amazing is the difference in running temperature of the transmission. Before changing to RP, my hurst shifter would get very hot. After synchromax, it's never hot or even warm. The temperature difference is really night and day. I can't imagine heat being good for the synchros or any of the transmission.

well i think i finally found someone with the same issue!!
I am currently sending mine to the dealership because i friend of mine told me that in 07 some of our trans have syncros made out of magniesium made in brazil! and the syncros are shot! I too get heat on my hurst shifter and am running stock fluids. I also have noticed my biggest issue is that 3rd on engine decel (high rpm enginge braking) my gear shift vibrates... I have herd this is a syncro spring causing the issue. either way i want a new trans! just waiting to fill my "black box" with clean data before sending it in.

My hurst shifter gets hot too.I do like the time my wife said"why is your shifter so hot?"Ehh nevermind, wont go there. But yeah, hurst shifter have been known to rattle and its annoying as hell.As far as the dealer looking at the "black box",you have nothing to worry about,Ive never seen any data relating too how the car has been drove(unless you datalog pids)I work for ford and do alot of drivability issues and I dont even know If that can be accesed by our diag equipment fors uses a progam called I.D.S.Ive NEVER seen a way to access this.I dont know if insurance adjusters have some program to run and look at what happend before a crash or what,I know dealerships dont and ive never seen any that has.I do know the tremac is a stout trans though. This T.S.B has been out since they started throwing this trans in the edges, you would think they would figure out why these things have issues.tremac is now saying the reason for the raspy feel or clash betwwen shifting is the type of fluid that was used(was mobil synthetic from the start)and now are recommending mercon v.Im not sure about the syncros being built in brazil,I will check tommorow at work.I have the parts in my toolbox ready to go in(wouldnt surprise me though!)

well partner i guess youve never got your hands on a snap on tuner before! look into it not only can i see your entire history of your car. Speed even the weight of you and your passenger.... has to do with how the air bags deploy. but if ford wants to be a pain they will look into your history and try to viod your warrenty. maybe they dont do this where you come from but up here it happens. BASTARDS! but please look into it for me.
PS my soursce is a ford certifed mechanic with 15 years of experience 5 of wich are as a driveline specialist for a private company. Hes doing my gears this winter... Im excited...

Let us know what you think of the synchromax if you decide to try it. It didn't look like gear oil to me, more like transmission fluid or something inbetween. It did seem thicker than the ATF that came out.

The only snap on Ive ever used was a modis.(spelling?)Ive never go in too much depth with it though.I talked to my service manager today and he even had no idea about the IDS being able to do this.I could see if you had an airbag deployment you could look at certain parameters before the crash.Anyway,if you can do that with a snap on,thats friggin' sweet!Anything from snap on is overpriced though and I havent ever met a nice snap on tool guy. But,I wouldnt worry at all about warranty issues. What are you worried about? They cant deny a warranty claim because of some minor bolt ons unless those directly caused that component to fail(like putting a CAI on and then getting a SES,that wouldnt be covered if that was the cause of the SES to come on). Some dealers will be jerks about any mods but you shouldnt have any reasons to worry. And dont let them tell you"the reason for the grinding is because of the aftermarket shifter"because they may pull that B.S. Better yet,put the stock back on if you still have it and then bring it in,then they cant say anything. If you dont have the original, tell them this is standerd equipment in the shelby GT's.Good luck too ya,and BTW,I looked at my syncros/blocker rings boxes today:MADE IN MEXICO.Go figure!
