Shortie Growl?

Shortie Growl?
I've been reading all the LT vs shortie threads trying to make up my mind, and I'm really leaning toward JBA shorties since I already have flowmaster axle backs (came with car), because they have very similar performance gains to LTs, and are significantly cheaper. My question is, I want the performance gain, but I also want the exhaust louder and meaner sounding. I know LT's will do that, will shorties make any difference? Or is it more a function of changing out the h-pipe for a x-pipe. Any help would be great.

Go to the exhaust super thread and listen for yourself.

Long tubes are typically louder because most people leave the cats off or replace them with high flow cats. The cats act as mufflers in the exhaust system and quiet it down a lot. With shorties, you are still flowing through the stock cats. From what others have said, shorties are the same sound level as stock, but just deeper and meaner sounding with none of the popping on decel.
