Anyone conquered the dreaded "Gear Rollover" noise?

its kinda like a swooshing / whining sound on the accel and like a little louder with a bit of resonating on decel.

sorry not so good at discribing

have you serviced the tranny yet? the STS isnt helping either, but any good aftermarket tranny will have some whine, and a t3650 is a good tranny as long as you dont powershift it.

yeah i might have powershifted it a few times. but now i havent serviced it yet the car only has 14thousad kms (less then 10k miles) but i have taken it to the stealership and after driving with the service manager he said its normal. but i was thinking of rp to try and quiet it down

I put Royal Purple in my 04 and packed some insulation around the shifter and under the center console to quieten the tranny noise. The Royal Purple takes a couple hundred miles but it does improve the tranny noise.

Wow, I always thought it was just me who heard this. I never noticed it really until; I installed an aluminum drive shaft and pro 5.0 shifter. I've gotten fairly used to it.

My car is bone stock. No aftermarket shifter of any kind. I just turned over 54K miles and had the tranny serviced at 36K with complete clutch and throw-out bearing. According to Ford the throw-out bearing is what i was hearing. but I heard the sound I brought it in for as soon as I picked it up....

well i think im gonna add royal purple to it and hopefully itll shut it up a bit and run it untill it blows. When it does can you say t6060? i can
