Default 4:10 Gears

Question on the 4:10 gears - exactly what do I need to buy?

I was going to get this set:

http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...=461cPath=3_37

As it seems to be the cheapest real part around but on other sites I've seen the gears sold with other pieces, will this come with everything I need or do I need other bits?

Thanks!

for only 150.00, it probably comes with only what you see there. if you plan on installing them yourself, you will need a gear install kit for 8.8" rearends also. you can pretty much get them at any parts house. usually around 85.00. it comes with new shims, seals, bearings, crush sleeve, bolts, and some come with gear oil. if you are taking it to a shop to be installed, they probably have everything or will get it for you. just call and ask.

I just sent an email to the customer service asking for the part number, I'll get back to you as soon as I get a response... if they are the good gears I may have to jump on this deal as well.

# M4209G410A Is this the correct part number for the good FRPP gears? If so http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...Rear-End-Gears has these gears for just under $150 as well. They also have a complete rear kit for $260 that includes the installation package and Royal Purple oil.

Email back from OP inquiring the gear part #:

"They are the only 4.10's that Ford Racing sells that are made by Ford. Not Motive."

OK so they are the official gears not the Motive ones... cool.... the other place I found them was here:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/05-07-mustang-gears.html

On American Muscle they sell both of them (FRPP + Motive) side by side, if you look at the FRPP 4:10's they have a number of options:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/fopege4ra.html

Master Bearing Kit
Installation Kit
Rebuilt T-LOK Kit

I take it this is the stuff I would need if I was doing this myself?? I'm picking my car up from the dealer later today so I think I'll take a print out of the page from the original link and ask them if they can install them and supply all the necessary parts.....

So I was at the dealership earlier (would you believe that one of their sales people hadn't seen the 2010 Mustang.... what kind of a world do we live in?? ) picking up my car and I asked them if they could install the gears... they looked in their big book and according to that its a 10 hour job that's going to run me $700 I pointed out that I thought that was a little high and they told me that due to the computer tune it took a lot of time..... so I was like OK don't tune it..... I have a custom tune it doesn't need messing but he couldn't comment on that....

So guess I'll be looking around a bit more
