Default Predator tuning questions

I have a Predator with a C&L Racer CAI and have the 91 octane tune installed. I run 93 octane and bumped the Global Spark Advance by 2 points (percentage?) per Diablosport techs. Anyway, after taking the car out with the 93 tune the motor still seemd "lazy" under 4,000 RPM's, like it didn't have enough advance or like the timing curve was slow.

My question is what is the safe amount of advance that we can run in the Global Spark Advance 5%, 6%? the guys at Diablosport wouldn't say but said even 3% was conservative. Having played a long time with engines and advance over the years, I can tell my motor needs more advance. So little by little I bumped it to 5% on the Global Spark Advance menu. The motor seems to love it. Much crisper and responsive, and pulls a lot faster. The only thing is I am worrried about is detonation and maybe I am not hearing it.

Also, what is the differnce between the Global Spark Advance and the 2000-4000 and 4000-7000 RPM spark advance? I see that we can adjust the 2000-4000/4000-7000 by 1/2 point increments but the Global Spark Advance by only full point increments.

There is definitely some need for some fine tuning but I feel like I am flying blind. I'd like to improve performance without blowing up my motor.

Last thing, can we hear detonation in our cars? Or is it pulled out by the ECM quietly?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Instead of messing the global spark, get a mail order tune from Bamachips.

In had to richen up my fuel delivery in both area's by 2% to get mine to run better. It was flat and raw feeling before adding a little more fuel to the tune. Running all stock except for a BBK CAI.

How much did you add for the 1000-3000 and 4000-7000? Did you do it 'till it felt right (SOTP) or did you take it to a dyno?

Tazzy - sorry, saw the 2% reply. So was it SOTP tuning?

Yes it was SOTP, It pulls much harder now and feels so much smoother.

So if I talk to Bama Chips will they custom tune to my application? And generally how much is it?
