Sounds like a lot of conflicting posts about which one makes more power and where in the rpm range.

Can someone post actual adverstised HP and Torq gains of each of these cams in a NA application, preferably over stock and not with X, Y, and Z parts also added.

Thanks

SOHC?? its a DOHC mod motor, 4 cams in total and a PITA to time properly unlike SOHC, 1G is expensive for install 500 range is about right

how difficult?? have you swapped cams before? its not like doing a intake, also you need specialty tools. Im an apprentice mechanic and am kinda hesitant on doing this.. Id get a friend (journeyman of like 20 years) to help make sure i dont F anything up

Hey guys i installed my Comp NSR II's in oct. not realy hard but you have to have some tech skills. The power i got from these cams is awesome. I have power through out the whole rpm range. I have a tune from Doug at Bmamchips. I emailed about my delima on going wiht FRpp hot rods or Comps NSR II's. He emailed me back saying i would get better performance with the NSR's. He had tuned one that got 25-32 hp throughour the entire RPM range. So i went with his opinion. I just emialed him about the Stage II Thumprs just waiting to see what he says.

So the last time there were a handful of threads on this topic, the discussion was dominated by talk of all sorts of idle and low-rpm problems - like the car pulses power when trying to start normally (not racing) from a dead stop or the car's idle rpm jumps all over the place. Or the mpg drops through the floor (yeah, its a mustang - we aren't looking be a fuel miser..I know). The general consensus was not many people know how to make a tune for 2005+ Mustangs with cams.

Are you guys having these troubles?

My milage averages about 25mpg on the highway. The idle rpm is constant. The car will lurch on start if it is lugged. Any vehicle with a mid range cam will do that. It requires adjusting your revs on take off. I use mine as a daily driver and have no problems. My wife drives it quite often and has no problems or complaints.
