3.73s installed and have a ? for those with 4.10s
So I have 3.73s installed on my '08 5spd. I do like them a lot over the 3.31s. However, there's still a big difference in rpm drop going from 4th to 5th. So if I wanna cruise at 70mph, I'll either be at revving kind of hig in 4th (3K rpm or so) or 2000rpm in 5th. So I'm kinda revving a bit high or sort of lugging. 80 in 5th is much better.
That's why I can't understand those with 4.10s....I'd think 4th would really be revving high and I'd always go to 5th for anything 65 or higher. So are you guys with 4.10s and a 5psd always revving around 3k rpms in non-freeway driving?
Thanks,
B

Get an intake and tune and it will wake up the "lugginess." Its not so much that the car doesn't make power down low, its just that the stock electronic throttle programming sucks on these cars. An intake/tune package will reprogram the gas pedal so that you can easily rev match and the car actually responds before the gas pedal reaches halfway. (Plus it will add ~15-25rwhp)

I don't want to spend anymore right now.....and I'm very happy with the way it runs overall.

I had that addressed. Racing shop that did the work recalibrated the speedo and flashed the software. I had the work done at JBA racing in San Diego..this stuff is their bread and butter.

Right you are. They did it for $90 or I could do a full custom tune for a few hundred more. I said just do the canned tune so they did. And odometer is accurate and car seems to run awesome so I'm happy.

JBA is a good place for parts, but when if you ever want to get a dyno tune for your car, most people swear by RET in LA and ST motorsports in San Diego. Regarding your gears, you may want to think about changing the gear oil. I assume JBA put synthetic in there. Take your car to San Diego Gear and Axle and have them put Schaffers Oil in there.
