Hellion single modded to Blow Thru
 

We have this customer (auto GT) that had a very crappy tune installed (barely made 300rwhp) and everything went great then but from time to time car tend to shut down with lift.

We decided to do a blow thru mod with it, the goal with these was to get the kit working properly with no drivability issues at all.

We removed the BOV and relocated to the pipe that went into the IC and make it blew to the atmosphera with a new turbo XS blow off.

Deleted all the pipes that interconnected with the BOV originally, the guy that does all our solder jobs was on a holiday so we went to another one that didn't do the work as we wanted to but it still works. Got an steel slot flange soldered to the inlet pipe with an HPX MAF and a MAFia. In this config you may get up to about 450rwhp with this sensor in a 2.5" pipe with no MAFia. We chose to use one so we could leave enough up range (our location is 3000ft abose sea level so we need always to plan a safety net in all our jobs)

Because of the size of the pipe is thinner than ideal I would recommend using a 3" pipe at least for bigger applications, a complete replacement of the inlet section is planned for another customer car that will make big numbers. If you look at a section of a 2.5" pipe the slot sensor may occupy close to 1/5-1/4 of the total area available so it may produce some restriction for higher boosted apps. We have a stock SB so it wasn't our goal so we though we were good to go.

We also found that in these config (maybe the maf location, maybe the config, we just don't know) the LOAD peaked very aggressively (see it at the datalogging chart), something we did not had before. It was a pain to tune around that. We finally made 430rwhp@8.5psi@15* with 91 (auto), car drives beautifully, like it has nothing in it...until you bang it. The mechanic removed the WG recirculation so the noise once the WG opens is simply nuts!!!!
