Default Has anybody messed around with their tuner options

Has anybody tweaked their mail ordered tunes using the tuners adjustable options??

I have an SCT 2 , with bama tunes (torque, performance, race all 93 octane). The race tune felt like it needed a bit of fuel up top, so i added 2% fuel enrichment using the adjustable options. This made the car pull harder to red line. I have built a couple of 5.0s in the past, and i would street tune them using the fuel presure regulators, i am wondering if anybody else has further tuned their s197 using the adjustable option settings??

I would only venture into that land if you
have access to a dyno. And I dont mean
a 'seat of the pants' variety.
Did you read the plugs after driving around with the 2% fuel increase?
What did your A/F meter say before and after the change?

I would leave the tune tweaking to the professionals with
the proper equipment and knowhow.

I agree with you 157db, but to tune a car you do not need a dyno or laptop all the time. just as the old school guys that do not know what EFI is...lol, they tuned their cars by feel, and sound only. Anybody with common knowledge of motors can tell if a car is running lean, or rich just by using their senses. Smells, smoke, noise ect.

Adding a bit of fuel will not cause harm, too much fuel can cause the fuel to linger in the combustion chamber seep down and may cause damage to a bearing or other internals, but you would defenatlly smell your car running rich if you had that much unburned fuel.

hey shockwave, nothing wrong with making
small changes with your hand held tuner
as long as you monitor A/F and the plugs
like db recommends.

db is looking out for your best interests and
just doesn't want you to harm your
vehicle.

I have played with timing when I ran N2O, recently I pulled 6% fuel to lean the car out after some issues. I have a wideband to go by so all is good. It still needs to be tuned properly though.

I am running Bamachips 91 race tune and I added 1% fuel at both below 2k and above 2K. Prior to adding the fuel my car dynoed 298RWHP/308RWTQ. The A/F was right around 13.5 and the the temp was 75-76 degrees. After adding the 1% fuel, on the same dyno, but a different day, the avg of two dynos was 303RWHP/312RWTQ. The A/F was around 12.3-12.4 and the temp as 82 degrees.
