opinions please..
hey guys.. havent been on here ina while but im close to purchasing a sc...
Ive narrowed it down to either whipple or kb... at the moment id only be able to purchase the low 5 psi non intercooled kit but that would be fine for me until i saved up for the upgrades... my question is, are there any cons to buying the non intercooled kit and then upgrading? or is it basically the same..
install prices aren't an issue btw.. thanks

you will need to pull the compressor
off of the manifold to upgrade and you'll
have some other things to mount
up in the engine bay, but really nothing
very difficult.
if this is your plan, it's a fine one and
i say go for it.
as for which s/c, i believe both are
excellent, just choose one...

I am a big whipple fan (obviously) but after the price increase if I was in the market for FI I would probably go Hellion Turbo.
At the time I order'd mine (gen 1 whipple HO) it was cheaper to get the whipple and it had some great features I liked that talked me out of the Hellion.
But now that the price gap has closed I would go turbo. Main reason is that I could have bought an electronic boost controller and driven at 5psi for a DD and up it to 10psi on the weekend for power cruising and the track.
Not trying to confuse or change you mind just letting you know my experience and thoughts.
The whipple is a great kit and I have had perfect reliability and killer power.
If only I could have a built motor N/A bullitt, and a sinister blacked out turbo stang, in addition to the whipple car, Life would be perfect.
I will just have to make do with what I have.

Don't discount Eldobrock's new SC, this thing looks like it's shaping up to really give companies like Wipple/KB/Saleen a run for their money, especially after the price hikes.
