Install 4.10 gears then get back to us, heh. I first week I had the 93 Bama tune I accidently peeled out at every light. It took some time to get used to it, but the throttle response is amazing.

Great thread guys. I'm in the process of ordering a tune and I'm wondering if it is worth it to get the Brenspeed 93. In my area the highest octane I can get is 91 so I will defintely be getting 91 tune as well as the 87 for winter.
My question is can I run the 93 with 91 octane gas and an octane booster. is it worth trying?

I could be wrong, but I've heard that adding octane boster is not a good thing on these cars.

I heard/read that octane boosters will foul the plugs. I wouldn't run a 93 tune on 91 octane. The difference in hp/tq between a 91 and 93 is probally less than 3hp/3tq.

Also, as a general rule, you can use higher octane gas than the tune (93 gas with a 91 tune is OK), but you shouldn't use lower octane gas than the tune (87 gas with a 91 tune is not OK).

ok it is absolutly ok to run a 91 tune with93... difference is you'll run a little rich but the othett way hell no it will run too lean a well in one word easy to understand BOOM
and octane boost is a no no go with a 91 tune

Shouldn't it just pull timing to keep it from running badly if you put 87 gasoline in and run a 91 tune?

yes the knock sensors will pull timing as it sees super lean conditions. that being said would you like your motor to go to self preservation mode every time you step on the gas? and do you think thats optimal for the performance of the motor. might aswell not have a tune.

That or just run an 87 tune if you aren't willing to commit to the extra cost of 91/93 everytime. But then again, if you are strapped for cash to run lower octane and not get the most out of the product you bought, maybe you shouldn't have spent the money in the first place.

The point of my question was that it probably won't go "BOOM". Leastways not n/a.

In answer to your question, the answer is no.
