Default Troube Code: P0172 SYS BANK 1 RICH

okay I understand that it's saying bank 1 is running rich.

My question is, what i causing this?
How do I fix it?

I first noticed it after my SC install. It would only pop up once in a while when the car wasn't warmed up extensively. Now it seems to be happening more and more...

Car runs great. It just seems to be throwing the code. I probably need to take it in and get checked out; money is just tight right now...

Sounds like a tune problem.

It always says the same code or sometimes it alternates from bank to bank?

Do you have LT's?

Could be your front o2 sensors. The car is 5 years old.

You could datalog the o2's to see if they are working properly. Or take them out and test them.

Default I have the same kit with the same problem

I have an 06 Mustang Gt with a Kenne Bell and have the same problem (P0172) and I have changed the plugs out to the Brisk racing plugs they recomend and the light came back on two days later. I have been searching and found one guy did a blower (Magnuson) install and his kit came with injectors (so did ours) and he got the same code. He swapped the injectors from one side of the engine to the other and a new code came on P0175 ( bank 2 rich). Which means he had a bad injector or three, as this was on a 4.0 V6 mustang. It could also be a bad coil pack or a vacuum leak (already checked the torque on the intake bolts for the vacuum).

By the way I PM'd you my contact info and if I find out what the prblem is I will let you know and I hope you'll do the same if you find out first.

Lots of things can cause 1 side to be rich, like the things mentioned above.

Well here's an update. New plugs, all blower hoses checked, all blower bolts checked (per torque specs), injectors flow tested, engine smoke tested. Kenne Bell is in the process of loading me a new tune for the car. Matt at Kenne Bell has been very helpful with all this. I asked about the 02 sensor and was told it would have more than just the rich on bank one code if that was the problem. I'll report back in a week.
