Supercharger for DD
Just got the approval from my wife come tax return to order my supercharger for my '05 GT that is my daily driver. I'm wanting to keep my budget under $5k and looking @ the Vortec kit from Brenspeed. Anyone got any other suggestions?
Thanks

My Vortech has been on my daily driver for about three weeks or so. I love it. I like being able to drive all day long, if I want, and stay out of boost, but know it's there if I need it.....
Budget wise, the Brenspeed kit cannot be beat, I think...Remember to budget in your install and a good dyno tune afterward.....
Good Luck,
Mike

I appreciate the input. I'm definitely going to take my time and research. Right now the basic Vortech kit from Brenspeed has my attention. I like the numbers it puts out on top of the price overall. Also it will leave me with plenty of play to get a good tune from someone. Anyone know any shops in GA/AL. I live in Columbus, GA which is 2 hrs from Montgomery and 1.5 hours from Atlanta!
Thanks

I'm happy with the Vortech kit overall, the car has plenty of power. I'll be doing some 3.73 gears when I can manage to take a day off and handle it in the next couple of months, which should wake it up even more.

I have a Whipple HO on my DD and I have about 14k miles SC'd with 0 issues. Had a clutch problem but it wasnt SC related.
For under $5k the Vortech or non int Paxton are your only real choices. Dont forget you will also probably want gauges so add in a pod plus gauges into your price.
You will probably want at least upgraded LCA's too , in order to curb wheel hop.
If you really like a centri I say go with the vortech and you should be good. If a positive displacement is more your style just save the $5k for a little longer till you get $7k and look at Whipple's, KB, Saleen, Edlebrock etc.
In the long run make sure you get what you like so you dont have to buy again.
Also a dyno tune is worth while. Trust me no matter what your budget is you will end up going over. Just the nature of the beast.
