Default Stock sounding cams...

I have a question about cams. I want a cam that could give me excellent performance and at the same time sound very very close to stock. Do they exist? And which are available? ALSO, lets say I upgrade the cam in my car... how do I tune my car to that upgrade? How do I tell Brenspeed about it? Do they send me an updated file for my programmer?? How does all of this work?

From what I've heard, the Comp Cams XFI NSR and XFI VSR cams sound similar to stock idle. Brenspeed I think has both of those.

The most power cams are the Comp Cams XFI SPR series but those have a pretty good lope to them so it'll be obvious you're "cammed" with those.

The Comp Cams Thumpr and FRPP Hot Rod cams would be out of the question big time if you want a stockish idle. Those are about as far from stock idle as you can get!

Send an email to Brenspeed, they'll set you up good.

What he said. the original Comp NSR's. Level 1 or 2. If you listen closely, you can hear a slight lope, but thats the best to stock youll get.

Or you could stop being a wierdo and get some Thumpers, lol. Good luck,.

I made the mistake of having my local shop Dynotune it. $300 down the drain as I was curious about the difference between their tune and the Brenspeed. Brenspeeds tune had a smoother idle and more HP and costs like $50 unless you buy the part from them and the tune is free. If you are buying the tune from them you go to their website and pay for however many tunes you want. I bought the 3 pak and it is cheap unless you have nitrous the charge extra, should say special nitrous tune. They then contact you and you fill out a sheet with all your mods. Send it back and in a few days you receive an e-mail with your tunes attached. Load them on your tuner and onto your car and hit the road. Brenspeed Rocks!!!

that's awesome. What I'll do is buy a Zex nitrous system first... then buy the CAI & NOS Tune Package.. together it'll cost me $1300 and in the end I'll have 420hp.. (from only 100hp jets for playing it safe). Forget cams.... drains fuel mileage when using the car as an everyday driver...
