aggravated
so i got an e-mail back from american muscles tuner guy and he said
"To be honest with you, it is probably because you're using an 87 octane
tune. 87 octane is very poor for performance. If you want, you can just give
us a call and set up an order for a new tune, and we can tune you for 91 or
93 octane. 93 octane will get you the biggest horsepower gain, and it will
be a very noticeable difference in power and acceleration."
so i called and their going to send me that tune well see what happens

I don't buy that answer. I have an 87 Octane tune from BamaChips and it is no slouch when it comes to performance, particularly when compared to the stock tune. As someone mentioned earlier, you should check out the tunes offered by BamaChips or Brenspeed. They are tried and true as can be attested by the vast majority of the members on this forum.

Even an 87 custom tune should kick azz over the stock 87 tune. I said it earlier, f**k the canned AM tune and go Bama or Brenspeed. I call BS on his argument about 87 tunes providing poor performance. Maybe AM's 87 tune but not Bama's or Brenspeed's.
You should notice a larger gain going from stock 87 to custom 87 then from custom 87 to custom 93.

I have three tunes from Brenspeed , the 87,91, and 93. The only difference really between the higher octanes are the gas mileage. Also a few years ago one of my buddies used to have a 05 mustang also just like mine and I drove both and I felt like my pulled harder. In ohter words no two cars are exactly the same IMO.
