clunk coming from rear of car
Hi guys,
Curious if anyone can shed some light on my issue. I'm getting a clunking noise coming from the rear when I make turns, hit bumps, and change directions. It happens moreso in wet conditions, so I'm kinda stumped. Could it be the bushings from the arms that support the sway bar? Could it be the shocks? I do have bmr LCA's and bmr relocation brackets, but that is welded in, so I'm pretty certain that it is not those items.
If anybody has ideas, I'd love to hear 'em. Thanks!

Also make sure and check your strut and shock bolts, they come loose, its a known issue but Ford will not fix it under warranty. So when you hit a bump the front struts make a horrendous noise if they are lose, some locktite or double nut will correct, Ford was gracious enough to have a stupidly long strut bolt !! Also the 1 time use bolt/nuts on the stock control arms (LCA and UCA) sometimes need to be replaced because they won't hold torque spec after you put in aftermarket arms, both of these items I plan on fixing on my car as well as getting weld-in LCA relocation and UCA brackets, I have exactly the same issues as you and it drives me crazy, especially since I drag it twice a month, unerving to hear weird noises out back after you put in a good run!! I don't expect the car to be quite under stress but just making turns and barely articulating the suspension shouldn't be so noisey !!!!

the only thing you should be considering getting is a pair of new bolts for the lca
if the bolts take tq i wouldnt be too concerned but it is one use fasteners,
if your going to be "adjusting" the lcas more then a few times I would replace the bolts.

I had an issue like this when I lowered my 08 GT. I installed an Edelbrock adj P/H bar. After it was adjusted, I tightened down the jam nuts. After some driving I noticed a nasty noise from the back from turning. The jam nuts had come loose and my adjustment was off and not by much. A little red locktite after readjusting the bar and haven't had a rear end noise in 17,000 miles.
