Default Wondering..

I got a 08 gt and starting to do work to it now since after driving it for a good few months starts to seem to slow for my taste, anyone know top speed with 3.73 gears? and what the difference in acceleration would be thru the gears i have a manual btw, and if i can get any ideas for most +hp for the buck, not wanting to tune till i put a good bit of money in it though. already have a K&N intake, bigger throttle body maybe? not sure be good to hear some of the more experienced guys ideas since im young to the game thanks.

I would buy a tuner and set of tunes from brenspeed or bamachips. That will net you the most bang for the buck. If you get gears without having a tuner, your speedometer will read incorrectly. With 3.73s, you will still be able to go 140 mph or whatever the limited speed is in our cars, but with the tuner, it will disable the top speed limiter.

Cold air intake and a tuner is the best place to start. Pulley's and CMCV delte plates will work nicely also.

Top speed for our car's with the stock 3.55's is around 150 - 160 before aerodynamics kick in (on a mostly stock motor). Gears won't give you HP, and may cost you a few MPH at the very top end in a perfect environment, but will help you off the line and getting up to speed. I would either look at FI, or start with CAI and tune, UPD's, etc. as suggested by 2007VistaBlueGT. Just put a plan together as you can burn a lot of cash doing bolt ons prior to dumping even more on FI later on.
