What is involved in a tune package?

93 octane won't add any performance w/o a tune for that octane.
A custom tune will adjust numerous operating parameters (timing, A/F ratio and other fuel mapping, shift points, etc). A vendor that provides the custom tune will obtain specific data from you and will write new tunes based on your mods and what you're looking to do (motorX, track, DD). Typically, custom tunes are packaged with a Cold Air Intake since a CAI doesn't do much by itself but, with a tune, will provide more performance.
Call customer support at either Brenspeed or Bamachips (or both) and ask questions until you have all the info you need to make a decision.

A tune package is a cold air intake and a tuner from SCT or Diablo Sport. Your vendor will give you three custom tunes (87, 89, 93) that mate to your mods. Most on this forum use b'ama or brennspeed. Some use a performance shop if they don't want to do the work ourselves.
