gear install info..

on a side note-
Looks like I'll be needing me a new set of summer tires.. the place I took it at the start of winter gave me the WRONG SET of tires when I got them changed over, not only that but they either moved or went out of business in my area. (Though there are a few all over town)
Luckily they are reputable and their customer service is top notch, so that's some sort of consolation .. I guess lol.

I am having a place install it on Monday. They asked me if the rear end was any different then the 05-07s because they is nothing on the 08s online... they certainly quoted me with the best price so far..
I just want to hurry up and get it done so I can have enough time to break them in just right for the summer..

Find a Ford speed shop to do the gear swap.
Good Luck

Nothing wrong with doing a break in on the gears. I've heard from some they need to do 3 heat cycles before you get on it and I've also heard they don't need a break in period at all. I just happen to believe the second statement. Also I agree with GT John about the shop. If they have to look online to find out if the 08 mustang uses a 8.8" rearend they'll probably go online to find out how to install your gears also. Even if the 08 mustang didn't use the same 8.8" rearend from the past the gear install is going to be very similar.

I think it's because of the 2010s being so different from the rest, they just assumed they would be different year to year. They were just trying to quote me with an accurate install quote... looks like it'll have to wait until I get new tires though..
friggin set backs! lol
