Default How to increase exhaust sound

Ok so I got American thunder mufflers for my '05 GT. I like the sound but it's not much different from stock. I was hoping for a more deeper throatier sound at idle and acceleration. Is there anything else I can do to up the sound level and aggressiveness just a few more notches. Cutting out the cats in my area isn't an option either unfortunately. Thanks for any help. I'm still a newbie!!

You can get high flow cats and that will turn it up a bit. You can also go with a different axle back with flow thru mufflers like stingers, bassani race, or magnaflow or a muffler delete like slp or pypes.

Mac Boomtubes & long tube headers w/ high flow cats.

That should do it.

A CAI + tune will make the exhaust a little louder as well.

I have SLP Loudmouth. Sounds awesome. Mellow at idle and low rpm cruising but deep and throaty on acceleration.

Lots of muffler choices. But no matter what muffler you have, high flow cats will make them louder and more aggressive.

Check out the exhaust sticky. Lots of good info.

I have the FRPP (Borla) Stingers and they're louder than stock but still street legal in all 50. Go WOT and you'll wet yourself.

ARH LT Headers with catted X pipes feeding FRPP GTA Axlebacks. Awesome, mind blowing sound like a Cup car leaving the pits.

I have the flowmaster American Thunder Axle backs. Other than that the rest of the exhaust is stock!
