Default Wheel Hop and Spin

Hello everyone. Hope all enjoyed the Easter holiday. I finally had the chance to run my car at the dragstrip. It was a 1/8 mile track. My best time of the day was a 8.15 despite horrible spinning through 3rd gear. I feel like I could of pulled some high 7's with good traction.

I have a few questions for today. With my mods (see signature) how was my time compared to others. I have seen that a stock stang runs around 9 sec. Next is other than slicks what can I do to help the wheel hop and excessive spinning. Thanks for any input.

A set of LCA's (lower control arms) will most likely take care of most if not all of wheel hop, worked wonders on my car.

I will check on the LCA's. Thanks Toy4Bob and I was running stock air pressure 32-35lbs awakeinAZ. Had though about lowering the air pressure but wasnt 100% positive I could get my hands on a air compressor. Also this track was about 30 miles from any store. Thanks for the input.

You could get an air pump that runs off of the cigarette lighter/aux power outlet inside the car. It would be a little slow, but it would work.

Definitely LCAs for the wheel hop. Also, make sure you have a 1/4 tank or less of gas. You can get a portable air pump at one of the auto stores. I got one on sale at Tuesday Morning.

Hello, as others have stated lower control arms and relocation brackets will cure your problems. The lower control arms will stiffen your suspension and make it more consistant and the relocation brackets will allow you to move the instant center of your car rearward to aid in weight transfer. We have several different styles of lca's to choose from. I will post you a link to our site. Take at look at what we have to offer and if you have any questions please give me a call.
