I put 300 down with my mods with an email tune, that did not even take the throttlebody into account, I'm hoping I can put atleast 10 more with a dyno tune.

Good post. I'm trying to decide between the mods you mentioned vs. Vortech V3.

DLZ, above as requested.

You can see the entire curve moved up, so the car is stronger, but start adding the price of headers AND how much it will cost to have them installed and it doesn't add up, and an X-pipe that leaves the cats in place probably made no difference. I was hoping for some more sound, which was minimal. Pulleys are the one thing I would say might be worth it, the reduction in parasitic loss is constant so it's not like a top-end-only mod and they're fairly inexpensive. Looks like our factory exhaust is pretty efficient, however... at least at this stage in the game.

2005GTS197,

That's kind of what I'm getting at. I want a blower pretty bad too, but it's gonna be a while. In the mean time to keep a smile on your face I'd put a CAI, tune, gears, and mufflers on her and then STOP. At that point start saving for the blower.

Steve, don't get yourself down on the numbers right now. Those supporting mods will pay off ten fold when you are able to put that whipple on!

I've noticed that exhaust mods don't do nearly as much for the S197 as they did for previous stangs. The stock system flows amazingly well.

You have it right. Gears, tune, and CAI if you stay N/A. Everything else is not going to make much difference. Sure, you could bolt on a full exhaust and add the delete plates to gain a bit more in the 1/4 mile, but you won't feel any difference. You could also just wait for a cool day to run your at the track and gain free horsepower from the cooler temps.

I'd even debate the need for an aftermarket CAI. The gain is 90% from the tune/10% from the CAI. It just looks better.
Aftermarket CAIs do help. With no CAI and Bama 89 tune I dynoed 282 RWHP/ 289RWTQ, with the JLT and Bama 87 tune I was at 293RWHP/305RWTQ and the 91 tunes gave me 300 RWHP and 310RWTQ, so the CAI added 10-15 hp and 5-10 tq.
