Hello all,
I have been trying to learn as much as I can so pardon the ignorance......
I just got an SCT Flash tuner with the Steeda Carbon CAI from American muscle and it came with a free custom tune....I chose 93 octane performance. I know form what I have been reading that you all say AM is crap for tuning and to get a Brenspeed tune ASAP. My question is is it ok to just try the AMercian Muscle one first or the ones programmed on the SCT tuner and see how it goes? How hard is it to get a Brenspeed tune then get in on the tuner and into my car without screwing it up. i do have a custom tune place a 1/2 hour away but don't have the $300 now to spend on that. How worth it is it to get a custom tune. i only have an MGW short throw and corsa axlebacks on my car. Thanks for all the hep!!!!!

It is VERY worth while to get the custom tune. You will get literally twice the gain from a custom tune. The canned tune is way better than stock tuning, but if you want to do it right get it tuned on a dyno by someone who knows what they are doing and can tune YOUR car versus everyone's with a generic tune.
