pinion seal

Default pinion seal

Anyone changed there own pinion seal on a 05+ gt? i got ready to do it- then crawled underneath and realized the pinion yoke looks different "round" and no u joint? ,,,Ive changed pinion seals before on my truck "regular yoke with u joint"....so i thought id ask before i take it apart...Is the install the same?

Excuse my ignorance, but why would you need to change the seal? Is something leaking?

Its pretty much the same. Just gotta take the pinion nut off then pull the round pinion flange off. Make sure to set the bearing preload correctly when you tighten the pinion nut back down.I believe its around 16 inch pounds for used bearings. None of this is gonna be easy to do if your laying under your car with it up on jack stands.
