Default high flow cats worth it?

Getting shorty headers put in soon, should I replace the stock cats with high flow cats?

are they worth replacing to pick up some extra HP??

brands worth looking into ?

I like my hi-flows. They do add a little tq/hp compared to stock H and O/R prochamber. Here are some comparisons. Keep in mind that it was on the same dyno, but on different days.

Stock H 298 RWHP/ 309 RWTQ
O/R prochamber 302 RWHP/ 305 RWTQ
Prochamber with hi-flows 305 RWHP/ 312 RWTQ.

Out of the three set-ups, the hi-flows make the car sound the best. Louder than the stock H about as deep. Almost as loud as the o/r but inside the car sound cleaner and deeper.

damn, nine hp?? not bad... I thought about just replacing with a new H-pipe with High flow cats as well, but I already have cut outs and don't want to transfer them not splice into a new pipe.

If those numbers are accurate, the high flow cats sound like a great deal.. just as long as they don't bust out lol..

thanks!

If i'm rememberng right I read somewhere on the forum here that the stock cats are the most restrictive part of our exhaust system. So offroad setup may be the best but High flow cats are deffinitely an improvement

I felt a loss tq below 2500 RPMS or so when I was running an O/R prochamber. I believe it was because of lack of back-pressure.

IM almost positive your numbers are diff only because diff day I have never seen a dyno chart where the person gained hp adding cats from a o/r set up....

I have high flow cats and they added hp and a little more sound. I recommend them for Long tubes and shorties. The only time I wouldn't recommend them is if the car is lowered and you do long tubes. Scrapping problems.
