Anyone using Z-Max???
My father just bought a 2009 GT and was wondering if anyone uses z-max for their engine. He was wondering if it was going to void warranty by any means and should he use all the different types(fuel injection, oil, ect...). Any advice?

That's the stuff.
I use it - on a high-mileage 1999 Honda Accord that was having detonation problems. Running Zmax and 91 octane instead of 87 has taken care of that.
I don't see a need to put it in my Stang while I'm keeping 5k mile oil changes with Mobil1 & filter.

It appears to be nothing more than mineral oil. It actually increases bearing wear.

With today's oil technology, I don't see any need for it. A decent oil and filter and an appropriate oil change frequency is all you need. There's been a lot of negative energy on the forum about ANY oil additives in the S197's. I'd stay away from them.
Our Stangs (at least thru '07) came from the factory with Motorcraft synthetic blend. ANY name brand blend or full synthetic is all you need, IMO.
Great read, .boB. Thanks.
