So is 91 octane really that good for an automatic v8?

I've read that an additional 10 lb-ft of torque is produced between 1000-3000 rpm when switching from 87 octane to 93 octane. You should be able to feel that difference, even when reduced to approx. 8 lb-ft at the rear wheels.

i have a couple friends with 2005+ gts (2006 and 2008). they had a bit of a debate over this. one noticed 1 or 2 mpg gain and the other was the exact same.

I have a 07 GT stock tune, CAI. I can't tell any difference
