Thats exactly that for boring the motor and if you change the size of the crankshaft from stock you can effectively change the bore and stroke of the engine. Bore makes the cylinders bigger and stroke is the distance travelled from the top of the combustion chamber to the bottom (crankshft size effects that).
I have an article that is a good read that can explain that with a real world exp.
http://www.alternativeauto.com/prods...re_page_1.html keep reading to pg 2 as well and that explains the difference between boring (making cylinders wider/bigger around) and stroking (piston travel by changing the size of crankshaft) and gives some numbers that help put it all together....it effectively adds size to the motor.....i.e. ours stock is 281 cu....
