Is raising the Rev Limiter/shift points a bad ID!

The rods are the same as the NA Cobra rods (6800 rpm factory) and are fine at rpm without power adders. Many roadrace guys are turning these rods over 7000 rpm.
My car has hundreds of dragstrip passes with 6750 rpm shift points and 7200 rpm limiter setting. The valvetrain will not be happy with you if you take it to 7200 rpm under load. That said I have had no valvtrain issues with 6750 rpm powershifts.
PS the Shelby GT, Bullitt and 2010 Mustang GT all use the same basic engine and are factory set at 6500 rpm.

Either manual shifting or set your shift points by setting them manually on your tuner. The reason the limiter is set higher, when you are within 200 rpms of the limiter point the computer begins to shut things down, so when it hits the limiter it doesnt just slam off.
I agree
