Here in Maryland, they do OBD2 testing. For my old car(read: not Mustang), they just plug in under the dash and check if there are any CELs to flag a no-pass. For my old car, I had no cats, and a tune that just eliminated the CEL, and it passed perfectly every time. Will turning off the rear O2 sensors still let me pass?

Sorry for all the stupid questions, I just want to know what I'm about to get myself into. I can't stand having a quiet 'Stang

I've heard of people failing inspection because it came up that the rear O2's were off. Might be worth a shot to go through as-is, and if you fail, just come back with a tune that has your rear O2's on. You can drive around with an o/r pipe and rear O2's turned on for about 100 miles before the engine throws a code.

I even pass emissions with a SC, so I bet that you can pass with just a CAI and a tune..

Nothing about a supercharger should prevent you from passing emissions. If they do a sniff test, cats are all you need. If they do an ODBII test, all you need are no CEL's.

Am I right?

You can also go down to the nearest smog place and just ask them what they check for. Might as well get it from the horses mouth BEFORE you buy something you might end up regreting.

Also so far as visual tests are concerned you must have a CARB number for any mod you have here in California. I am not sure if your state has as gay emmission standards as mine but you might want to check. So if I go to get a smog check or get pulled over either authority will ask for my CARB numbers for my mods. If I dont have them I can get impounded.

This is why I run the FRPP CAI. I have a CARB sticker for it. Just in case an official wants a peek.

I read an account of a guy who failed a smog inspection because of his mods. The inspection place flagged his car such that he needed to have a referee inspect his car. He put his car back to stock before seeing the referee. He said the referee checked every detail of his car end to end but he got it passed.

I just returned everything to stock for Virginia emissions, hating it already. Did the whole process in less than 15 min.

This kid I know moved from NY to CA with his Stang...why would anyone subject themselves to such regulatory lunacy?
