Best Friends: Gears and Gas Mileage
#2
AFAIK, they increase gas mileage in the city where there is a lot of stop and go traffic, because it helps the car pick up speed with less stress on the engine. Nothing extreme though.
Highway mileage is not significantly hurt.
So, unless you have a long daily commute, go with the 4.10s.

If you have the Manual you currently have the 3.55 so I dont think I would bother with 3.73.
With 4.10 I got 27 mpg @ 70 mph (Didnt do but one long trip on 4.10).
With 3.55 I got 29-31 mpg @ 70 mph.
Im guessing I lost around 3 mpg on the Interstate but one trip isnt enough to say for sure. I picked up about 1 mpg from 19 to 20 mpg in town. My car had CAI / Tune / Aluminum Driveshaft and stock wheels / tires at the time.
PS I took the 4.10 back out because it was only quicker when I was on ET Streets.
