FRPP Hot Rod vs. Comp Cams SPR Stage 2 Cams / FRPP CNC vs Livernois Ported Heads
Which one and why: Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams OR Comp Cams SPR stage 3 Cams. Ford Racing CNC Ported Heads OR Lvernois Ported Heads.

I can't add much to this. But...the Hot Rod cams are a fairly mild cam. Stage 3 cams are stage 3 cams. Its like...Mustang V6 vs GT500, which one and why....
Not to say that stage 3 is automatically better. It can make more power, but there are trade-offs with driveability and the kind of rear end gears you'll need with those.

Well the question is what are the factory flow rates for factory Ford heads? The FRPP CNC heads flow 20% better intake and 30% better exhaust so if that number is better then the flow on the Livernois then that answers that question, also if the price for Livernoise is for a single that more then twice the price of a FRPP head. Another point is FRPP heads are brand new, Livernois and BBR use used heads so who knows what you're getting and you have to send them your back.
As for the cams it was said best Hot Rods are mild and stage 3 is stage 3. Your cam decision should be based on your final goal like all muscle or F.I and choose your cam that way. FRPP cams are also bolt in as is, while stage 3 need high lift valve springs, HD locks and retainers.

FRPP Hot Rod Cams are NSR (no springs required). They, like the comp NSR Stage II cams, are better matched with stock head flow rates. That's how FRPP and Comp designed them. A larger flow rate aftermarket head won't see it's true potential with either of these cams, at least in a N/A set up. The heads you are asking about are both better matched to a cam like the Comp SPR type.

We have the stage 3 spr turbo cams with stage 3 heads. Not sure you would want this setup on a regularly used street car. Car is presently being rebuilt for racing only. No data on dyno etc. Motor is complete. Powerglide transmission being built.
