port and polishing my stock heads?
Has anyone ever done their own port and polish work on their stock heads or had a shop do them? What were the performance gains? Were u happy with the performance gains or isn't it really worth it? I would like to do it myself if it's worth it because i don't wanna spend the extra money on a aftermarket set!

I looked into having mine done - there is a shop in Clearwater that would do it for about a grand. I ended up with aftermarkets, but there is a story behind that.
If you don't mind the car being stagnant for a few days, and its a reputable shop doing the P&P - why not?

I would just rather do them on my own. It doesnt bother me to have the car down for a while. Thats not a issue because it's not a daily driver. What heads did you end up going with and how much performance did you pick up? Was there a reason you went with the aftermarket over doing the work to your stock heads?

My engine has been down for over a month now and one of the things that is being done is a mild port job and the heads are being polished. According to my engine builder he could do a all out port but with the flow design of the 3 valves being so good the money would be better spent on another part of the engine so I went with a nice set of cams.
