Has anyone ran royal purple syncromax in the tremec 3650? Just wondering becuase the trasmission calls for ATF fluid. I ordered the royal purple but am hesitant to put it in.

I've been running it for some time now. Works well in my '06 GT.

Ford engineers specify Mercon V rated fluid be used in your transmission. Checking the RP web site, I can find no such rating for this fluid, or any rating at all for that matter. Use any fluid you want, but just be sure it has the Ford recommended Mercon V performance rating, or damage could occur.

I've heard both praise and badgering for the RP products. Without researching RP, I'd be hesitant to use it although I'm pretty sure some of their products are acceptable. I can't seem to find any reasons not to use Amsoil and, as a preferred customer, the Amsoil prices aren't that much more expensive than what M1 costs. No sense taking chances and going outside the comfort zone where our Stang's health and welfare is concerned.

I'v heard a lot of people say that Tremec has recommended different products. I was told to use Syncromesh by Penzoil. I think the manual calls for the dexron 3 atf though. Makes you wonder....

All I can say is that with an MGW shifter and Syncromax, I can't imagine a better shifting car than mine.

I've been running the RP for about 25K miles - ZERO issues, in fact I'd say the tranny runs a little cooler and the shifting is smoother.
