Default just had a FRPP supercharger kit and warranty chat with FRPP

So I have just spent some time talking to the guys at tousley ford and FRPP to figure out exactly what the warranty deal is with the whipple FRPP kits because i was very confused. i have been told a few times that these kits do not void the warranty on the car, which isn't true.

The 550hp kit and the 475hp kit for the 2010 both plain and simple void the powertrain warranty. The 400 hp kit takes your 36/36K and 60m/60K warranty for power train and cuts it to 12/12K on any internal damage to the motor or other parts caused by the SC.

right now just getting the car, i certainly don't want to do that. I've never seen this info on here before, but it is straight from FRPP. If it's here and common knowledge, sorry for wasting a thread.

If you don't mind taking the risk, tousley quoted me $4910 for the 400hp kit.

Oh, forgot to add, if you are under the 12/12 warranty with the 400kit, the most FRPP is liable for parts, labor and all is $8K. Can you even replace the motor for that with labor parts and all.

but is not nearly as upgradeable and doesn't have the power potential the whipple unit has.... I wanted the roush unit since I came on this board and just recently switched to getting the whipple because of talking to people

The document you posted says, "400 HP and 475 HP Superpacks are only warranted when dealer installed on Mustang GT 4.6L Engines".

Can I assume the 475 HP Superpack is only waranteed on the 2005-2009?

The Kits can have 3 year / 36,000 ml warrantee but they have to be installed at the time of purchase. FRPP changed that a few years ago because people were running right at 36,000 ml and then Installing the Supercharger getting essentially a 72,000 ml drivetrain warantee.

What the FRPP guy told me was that the warranty even on the 400hp kit was only 12/12 once the blower was installed. the 475 kit is basically a detuned 550 kit specifically for autos he said and has no warranty.

The must have changed it on the 2010. I know the warranty was 36/36 when you got the blower installed at time of car purchase. The 12/12 only applied to post-sale installs.

Blow By Racing sells the pulleys you need to make more power with the Roushcharger setup.

So the dealer where i bought the car called me today to ask about my apt next week to have stripes, tint, and louvers installed. i asked the guy about the SC issue. He said that the parts void the warranty, but that they will put in writing that they will cover the SC engine under the terms of my factory warranty. all the way to 6/60. they also said they have a polished whipple kit they also really want to move and want to deal on. The SC might happen afterall, depending on the deal. i spent some of the SC loot on my down payment, naturally.
