My car is about at 45kmi and I just got a letter in from Ford saying that it is time for the 45k tune up.

I was wondering what they do at 45k mi.?
I have a custom tune and wondered also if they would flash my car...

I do want to have the tune up done..
I just want to know what they do.

Look in your owners manual for scheduled maintainence. More than likely it's just something your dealer cooked up to make money.

Just a guess:

Oil change, air filter, and a bunch of meaningless inspections. $500!
