How much timing is in your tune Hammy?

You should be minimum of 17 and closer to 21 on 91 pump. 93 a point higher.

90? hmmmm, i could join you guys in the 500 club if that's the case.
i've actually been thinking of creating my own tune, or going back to my guru
for another dyno tune, this time based on 12psi and the stock cams. at
10psi with the hot rods, i was at 467rwhp.

i'll watch for your thread, maybe it's up now...

Not sure of the timing, but i'm installing an aeroforce in a roush vent pod
this week and then i'll be able to tell you.

I'm pretty sure the 500hp frpp tune maxed at 17 degrees of timing.

I can tell you that during my tuning session we went from 18 to 19.5 and gained 22 hp. For my motor that was a sweet spot.

yeah i saw the thread......it sure is shiny and i like the logo
on top. the fact that frpp says tune required, seems promising.

i may or may not make it....i think i'm drawing the line in the
sand at 12psi. i just don't see any need to go above that at
this time.

i have a feeling explicit is going to surprise us all, with some
hefty numbers.

That 19.5 seems to be about where most motors make their best power. 20, 21 degrees will sometimes make a little bit more, like 10 or so rwhp, but 2 degrees of timing for 10 HP, no thanks, I would rather make 10 less and be alittle safer for those really hot or cold days.

I'm not sure exactly what the FRPP throttle body is, but usually when you step up to a really large TB, mine is 130mm, you will gain 20+ rwhp and extra pound of boost. Combine that with a few degrees of timing, cleaning up the AF through out the RPM range and you your car will turn into a monster.

When dyno tuning on Saturday, this particular program had peak HP and TQ and averages for both. My peak TQ was like 510 or so, average was 400+, by cleaning up the AF in the middle and maybe adjusting the cam timing, it went up like 60-70 rwtq, but the peak number stayed the same. A good tuner will make a pull, look at the graph, write down notes, tweak the AF and maybe the timing, make another pull and do it again.

This where, "Power under the curve" comes into play.

I think 12 would be my max for a daily driver car, tuned for max potential, but not on the ragged edge of craziness. At 12 psi thru a manual tranny with 93 oct. there is no reason you shouldn't hit 500 rwhp. Especially with the throttle body.

So I'm in a dilema, I need 4.10 gears, but I need some better cooling for IAT's to make the 4.10s worth it. So I will be shopping around for a larger HE, ice box of some type and another IC pump if needed.
