RPM Drops

RPM Drops
Ive noticed after installing the C+L CAI and Tillman tune that the idle RPM has become pretty unsteady. Also if when coming down from a higher RPM it drops down to like 200 then goes back to like 700-800 for idle.
So like if I revved the engine while parked it the RPM will drop super low almost to stalling before going back up.
Is this a tune thing? Or the CAI?
~idea's?

Dropping to 200 is really low. If I creep forward in traffic, then push the clutch back in, mine sometimes drops to 550 or 600 before recovering to the set 760. It did this stock, and it has done it with all the Tillman tunes I have had.
Before calling Tillman about the tune, check all your vacuum hoses, connections, etc and make sure there is nothing loose. I would assume you'd be getting a CEL if there was, but you never know.
Funny, but I just installed Steeda Delete Plugs and a JLT CAI with the Tillman Tune. On cold start up, the RPMs are now running up to 2000 RPM for a couple of seconds before dropping to 1500. They stay there for about 15 seconds (when it goes into close loop) and then drops down to normal idle. The 1500 RPM thing is normal, but the 2000 RPM thing is new, and I can't decide if the tune has it doing this on purpose . . .

mikenavy, mine did this exact same thing and it was to the point of occasionally stalling. Did it with stock and aftermarket tunes. Dealer said there was a "leak" in the intake. I think it was from me not installing the top of the air filter housing properly after checking the filter. Doh!

Well I decided to stop bitching on the forum and just go and work on it. I tightened everything as much as I could. Drove it around the block and it doesn't seem to drop NEARLY as much. I guess as I drove around for the past few months it loosened up a bit. Who knows, anyways !

Clean your TB and MAF. I did mine over the weekend and it made a HUGE difference in my idle problems. Of course I have FRPP cams which makes things worse.
Most of the time a messed up idle is from a dirty TB and/or MAF.
