Does anyone know what causes no response from idle to 1200rpm? No matter how slow I push on the pedal it jumps? In gear or out it doesn't matter. It seems like the pedal will move 1/2 inch before anything happens?

So I'm not exactly sure what you're asking because your post is a little confusing, but:

1. It is possible that you do have "dead space" at the beginning of the pedal travel. There are a few things you can do to fix it. I ended up following some advice on the forums and removing the throttle pedal assembly, unscrewing the torx screws that hold the little cover on the electronic bits, and shifting the cover as far over as possible (the screw holes are oval so there is some room for adjustment). Put everything back together and the dead space is gone! You can search around here for the other solutions.

2. There can be lag in the Drive By Wire system. You could try the throttle recalibration procedure (again, search), but pretty much the only real "fix" is an aftermarket tune; Ford's tune just lags a lot...

That helps some with the pedal lag.... I will try it.

The other problem would still be there. The rpm's should ramp up smooth, not jump from 800 to 1200. Once its over 1200 its very smooth.

Is this a computer problem the dealer has to program?

Try the recalibration as mentioned above but a good custom tune will resolve that and then some.

Mine did this stock and the "recalibration" didn't do anything. But that SCT tune sure did!
