Default de-tuned for winter?

Is running a "de-tune" for the winter months a good idea for both driveability and safety?

Say with a twin screw supercharger?

8 psi summer tune, 3-5 psi winter tune?

The best winter tune is called a garage and a battery tender.

I have 3 Brenspeed tunes. I run the 93 octane tune in summer, the 87 octane tune in winter. Works for me.
