Default Longtube headers - Ceramic vs. stainless vs. polished

I have an 06 gt an i want to put a set of longtubes on but ceramic are expensive vs polished or stainless. I was wondering if any1 could give me some input regarding if the price of ceramic is really worth it over the others.

I got my Kooks LT's, which are stainless, ceramic coated and I'm glad I did. The temps under my hood actually seem a little bit cooler than they were with the stock manifolds.

So with my experience I'd say definitely get your LT's coated whichever you go with.

Stainless steal all the way no need to coat them either it's a waste of $$$. I would budget for a nice set of American Racing headers, you will have them forever and now available with X or H pipe same price.

The reason to coat is not to keep the finish but to keep the heat inside the headers. Stainless steel does not keep in the heat like the cast iron manifolds do so if you want to keep your underhood temps down, that's the reason to coat them.

Is it that much of a plus to keep engine temps down, yes i dont want my car running hot, but for a daily driver is it worth the extra money or no

That's a personal call. If you go with Kooks, on one of the mustang sites Maryland Speed is a vendor and they have a free jet-hot coating coupon. That's how I got mine coated.
