i had my motor stroked 298 9.0:1 cpr, ported heads, stage4 cams, pulleys, intake, mac headers, gt500 tb, 3k stall, 4.10 gears, #39 injectors. the car made 360hp to the wheels, best time of 7.8s in the 1/8 mile n/a and 7.5 with a 100 shot of dry nitrous with no traction. if i had to do it again, i'd just do a single 70mm turbo kit and keep it under a reasonable hp level just to keep the rods inside the block.

if i would build another n/a 3v. i'd do the same i had, but not stroker just leave the stock assembly and put a direct port nitrous system. oh and i'd rather use the 1979-1993 shell just because of the weight (dont get me wrong i loved my s197)

get a good set of cams + some longtubes. it will get you near 300 RWHP with tuning.

then be happy. otherwise, if you want more...just get a blower. the mod motor doesn't lend itself to high HP unless you boost it

yeah, a big suck *** difference.

the stock TB is good for at least 420 RWHP without any issues. Many guys are running 450+ RWHP on them.

the GT500 unit is obviously meant for more, but in some cases, it's overkill. not to mention that most tuners seem to dislike tuning a GT with a GT500 TB due to the flow differences.

I understand the whole idea of keeping n/a for driveability concerns, not that there are any worth noting, (just a difference in power delivery) but I went with boost simply because of it's installation ease. I didnt have to get dirty. I didnt have to worry about breaking into the factory engine which would add the potential for screwing it up. With the exception of exhaust, and the blower, the car is stock including the TB. No issues at 460rwhp. It has a conservative tune, so it's not pushing the envelope in that sense. Granted it is not constantly ridden hard and put away wet, but it has had it's moments.

lol sounds like the opposite of my driving habits... I have about 385whp right now.. I can't imagine 460

I'd say do cams for noticable upper rpm gains if your budget is small. Or go with a blower and be done with it.

Yes, 3.31's. I wouldnt mind going to 3.73's, but wider rims and better tires will be necessary to keep it from spinning all over the place.
I have never run down the quarter before this car, and with this car, it's only been 4 passes. So I'm rather noobish. My et/mph is slow (in my opinion anyway) in a car with over 500hp, 12.64@109, and I am surprised at yours with 4.10's. Without an intercooler, what psi are you getting?

With a centri equipped auto there isn't any drama at take off, but the tires will break loose while already moving. You can hear it in the video.

The only part I am getting out of this kit right now are the Hot Rod Cams.
I am having them along with 4.10's installed.

I may go F.I. in a year or so but it will be a conservative SC.
Probably a Roush M90.
I will also probably leave the Hot Rod cams in when I get the SC.
I am hearing they are fine to leave in with F.I.

1.) Sell it

2.) Buy 11 5.0L GT*

*Steeda just came out w/ a intake, and they gained 44rwhp w/ a canned tune total of 380rwhp.

about 385whp'ish w/90 oct race tune. The 4.10s simply MURDER my stock tires and I swear its fighting for traction the entire way down the 1/8th mile lol by that time if the OD is one for the run, I'll be in final gear at 80 mph mph no joke lol If I had some sort of traction and at least lower control arms, I'd be in the 12.2 region @110mph.. at least. I can feel it wanting to accelerate but the tires/gear combo is just too aggressive. The 4.10s are right about 1k rpm from another from 1st-3rd gear all the way to final drive. 3.31s are great but 4.10s are simply insane rofl. You could be running high 11s with those power level.. high elevation??
