There is a tapping sound coming from my dashboard. It only happens when I start the car and it lasts for several seconds and then goes away until the car is shut off and started again. I have no idea what it could possibly be. Anyone experience this before and if so, have you fixed it? Its getting EXTREMELY annoying.

I'm not sure but I do know that some on-board systems on other cars will go thru a system check at startup. My SUV's air bag and brake systems do that and I hear and feel things at startup. Hopefully 157db will chime in as he's pretty well versed on our electronics.

Yeah I thought it could be something like that but it started recently. I've had my car for about a year now and it just started making that tapping sound about a month ago.

My 10 doesn't do that, doesn't sound normal to me. Warranty is your friend in this case, unless you have installed electronics or something yourself in which case they will blame that.

Yeah good thing I haven't touched anything electronic. It literally came from nowhere. One day its fine and the next day I start her up and it started tapping. Hasn't stopped since.
