Default PST Carbon Fiber Driveshaft

I saw this driveshaft out at VMP. Anybody used this or know anything about it?

i think most people here use the shaft master's aluminum driveshaft. it weighs in at 18ish lb and is about half that price.

That uses a CV joint and not that horrid slip yoke most everyone else uses. Finally someone knows what they are doing.

Interesting. I was originally looking for a carbon fiber driveshaft, but couldn´t find a reliable one so I went with Shaftmasters. Great product though, so I can´t complain. 18.5lbs vs 38.8lbs, and even though I wasn´t a perfectionist with the install, no NVH at 120mph. I don´t know if an extra 3.5ish pounds could justify the extra 600$ on my budget.

how does the aftermarket alluminum or carbon fiber, d shafts help? smoother ride throughout all speeds and rpm's? any power gains to the distribution of wheels?

The lighter weight of the one piece shaft reduces the mass which has to be accelerated so the car accelerates faster. It does not make more power.

The problem is that because the engine is tilted trans down the alignment of the two Hook joints are never aligned correctly plus the sliding joint in the shaft allows the shaft to run crooked. And with slop this cause harmonics and vibration. The CV joint in the shaft linked above eliminates those problems plus it is lighter than other one piece shafts.

I had to get adjustable rear lower control arms to set the angle properly. It was vibrating at about 120 MPH, now it's fine.

I know this is an expensive piece, so I'm guessing nobody has used it?
