just bought JLT CAI used and sct tuner from AM!
so i bought a JLT CAI from another user on the site and i just ordered the tuner of AM yesterday and i sent in for the tunes. Even though i'll have it by next week i wont be isntalling the CAI or using the tuner till the first week of Sept cuz i promised a friend that i'd wait to go on leave to install it so he could be there for it. it's gonna kill knowing i have everything to make it work but i'm a man of my word and i'll wait. but anyway, i'm planning on using the 89 performance tune so is there a certain amount of time that i should use 89 fuel prior to install or can i just pretty much fill up on 89 the day of install?

Best to fill-up with 89 twice prior to the install to be sure you have a full tank of 89. Even if you fill up with 89 from 3/4 of a tank, you'll still be a bit below the required octane and could ping a bit. But you could always fill up from 1/2 tank of 87 with 93 and you'd be at or above 89. Your choice.

sounds good, i'll probably do the fill the tank twice with 89 just to be sure. thx bro

Did you get an AM 93 octane "race" tune with it? If so, put it in and have fun!! I use it as a DD. No problems here. What gears are you running?

I am telling you that the 93 octane "race" tune w/ 3.55's will be fun!! You are NOT going to be roasting the tires at every red light and stop sign in town. But, when you step on the skinny pedal................WOW! You will find that is what you bought your car for.

what mapitts said...give it a whirl...you'll smile...

yeah with the 93 race tune, 3.90 gears, intake, tune, xpipe, axle back, my car doesnt spin unless i try to launch it. but it does feel faster. and the throttle response is incredible

haha u guys got the best of me, looks like come september i'm gonna have to give the 93 a try

That a boy....you will NEVER look back!! You will find that it is EXACTLY what your Mustang has needed all along. I am not knocking 4.10's, but with the intake and the 93 octane tune, it seems to me that these cars were made for either 3.55's or 3.73's. I was out on the interstate last night going from between 80 to 100 because of the traffic. It runs from 80 up to 100 in no time, and has no problem staying there!
